Whiteboards don't page at 3 AM.

Every engineer knows the gap between interview skill and 3 AM skill. We hire people who can reverse linked lists, then discover during their first incident whether they can read logs under pressure.

Faultybox exists to close that gap: real broken systems, recorded and graded, the interview is the job.

I build Faultybox on my own. I have spent years running production infrastructure and carrying the pager for it, which is the entire reason this product grades how something got fixed rather than whether the box came back up. I have been the candidate asked to invert a binary tree for an on-call job, and I have been the one reading a resume at 11pm wondering whether this person can keep their head when the dashboard goes red.

Faultybox is early, opinionated, and in beta. If you think a grading rule is wrong, tell me and I will argue about it with you: support@faultybox.com
